Problem Statement

The GoodWorker app faces critical challenges in the job application and selection process:

1. Low Shortlisting Rate: Out of the total number of workers applying for jobs, only 28% are shortlisted for interviews, resulting in a significant drop-off rate of 94% overall.

2. Lack of Interview Preparedness: A large percentage of workers fail interviews due to limited familiarity with formal interview processes, leading to missed job opportunities.

3. Low Job Fulfillment Rate: The job fulfillment rate is only 15%, indicating a substantial gap between the demand for qualified candidates and the scarcity of interview-ready workers.

Addressing these challenges is vital to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the job application and selection process on the GoodWorker app.

Solution

To tackle the challenges faced by the GoodWorker app in the job application and selection process, the solution is to introduce Interview Prep. This feature provides an easy and effective way for candidates to navigate popular interview questions and practice them, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident during interviews.

The Interview Prep feature encompasses three core journeys:

1. Mock Interview: Candidates can engage in simulated interview sessions to gain practical experience and refine their interview skills. This enables them to familiarize themselves with the interview process, receive feedback, and improve their performance.

2. Practice Popular Questions: Candidates have access to a curated collection of popular interview questions specific to their field or industry. They can practice answering these questions, enhancing their ability to articulate responses and showcase their qualifications effectively.

3. Interview Basics: This section covers essential logistic and pre-interview nuances. Candidates can find guidance on interview etiquette, dress code, preparation tips, and commonly overlooked details. This ensures they are well-prepared for all aspects of the interview experience.

By offering Interview Prep as a solution, GoodWorker empowers candidates to confidently navigate interviews, increasing their chances of success. This helps bridge the gap between the demand for qualified candidates and the shortage of interview-ready workers, leading to higher job fulfillment rates and improved efficiency in the job application and selection process.

At first, we experimented with numerous layout variations to determine the optimal fit for our objectives. As we progressed with the UI design, it became apparent that our initial choice wasn't ideal, prompting us to combine the most effective elements from each variation and arrive at the final design.

Visual Designing

In designing the UI for this project, several aspects were crucial to consider. The initial priority was to convey that users can prepare for interviews in just three steps. Next, we aimed to help users remember the jobs they've applied for and ensure they're familiar with the basic information. Lastly, it was important to preserve the visual appeal in line with the updated design approach.

We presented a virtual HR persona to assist users and to convey any essential information needed.

Here, the headline banner suggests that individuals can ready themselves for interviews in three stages, while utilizing the job card for mock interviews aids in memory retention as well.

In the latter portion of the display, we showcase fundamental and crucial inquiries explicitly tailored for particular sectors.

Ultimately, on the mock interview summary screen, I needed to display both the user's recorded response and the suggested answer for self-assessment purposes.
